This website concerns the feminist leaders of the 19th century. These women had a significant impact not only in their communities, but impacted American society and culture. Although they come from different upbringings, they still have the goal of equality between men and women. Some of them began advocating the abolition of slavery when they realized that women faced the same inequality. These feminist leaders were strong willed women determined to make a difference and break all the barriers instilled in society.

Not all of these women fight specifically for women's rights, but they defend people in need of representation. They inspire women to surpass society's expectations and fight for what they believe in.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.."
--Margaret Mead
